Donate an instrument
Forgotten flute? Lonely viola? Dusty double bass? Do you have a neglected instrument at the back of a cupboard or under the stairs? We will gratefully take any orchestral instrument, as well as guitars and saxophones.
Our Modulo Programme equips small or developing state school music departments to start their own orchestra. However, the biggest barrier to this proven means of developing community cohesion, academic skill and emotional well-being is simply the availability of instruments. Many school music teachers would love to run thriving and inclusive music ensembles, but are limited because their budget does not allow them to purchase instruments for children who can't afford them.
That's where you might be able to help.
Perhaps you were once a keen trumpeter or clarinettist, but those days are behind you. Maybe you’ve upgraded to a higher quality violin but your first one still sits on a shelf. Or perhaps, for years, you've had a guitar that never gets played cluttering up your living room.
Donate your neglected instrument to Orchestras for All and breathe new life into it. We have schools that would be delighted to take these instruments off your hands, and ensure they are regularly and lovingly played by young people excited by the opportunity to learn an instrument and take part in ensemble music-making. You would be enabling these young people to have unique opportunities to perform at world-class performance venues such as the Southbank Centre and LSO St Luke's.
