2013 Summer Course and Concert at the University of Warwick - 29 - 31 July 2013

Our 2013 Summer Course and Concert was a huge success! WELL DONE to all our players, and a huge thank you to staff, tutors and trustees for all their hard work. Thank you too to our incredible audience on the 31st, and also those of you who joined us online.

Conductors for Change at the Royal Festival Hall - 29 June 2013

OFA was once again invited to take part in the Sounds Venezuela Nucleo Festival at the Southbank Centre, and this year we placed a particular focus on conducting. OFA players and tutors were led by leading conductors Chris Stark and Bob Pepper, and the courageous were given the opportunity to lead the orchestra themselves.

West Midlands Regional Orchestra - 9 March 2013

Our first pilot regional orchestra at the Ormiston Academy in Birmingham for our West Midlands players. This was led by Emma Nenadic and featured Teach First participant James Leadingham performing on his electric guitar.

OFA Reception at the Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art - 28 April 2013

In April OFA friends and supporters joined us for a reception at the stunning Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art in Islington. Guests were treated to speeches and performances by OFA players Shereen and Dency, and later took part in a fundraising auction in support of OFA's work. We were absolutely blown away by the support and generosity shown  and would like to say a huge thank you to all.

London Easter Course - 4,5, 9 April 2013

Over the Easter holidays London OFA players took part in a 3 day workshop in collaboration with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields which ended with a fantastic final performance in St Pancras international station.

Brass Players' performance at Westminster Abbey - 18 March 2013

Our Brass Players performed a fanfare in the stunning Westminster Abbey on 18 March. This was in accompaniment to founder Marianna Hay's talk to students of Westminster School.
